Haha, so true. I'd love to go back for a sunset/rise, but I'd imagine there would be even more people there. That's about the only thing I don't like about that bit of coastline, as far as I can tell from my couple of visits, the sheer number of people. Glad to hear I'm not the only one to think so! :D

Yeah the best time for sunset is a one particular week in september or april as the entire door is cast in golden light with no shadow from the setting sun.

Theres always people at Durdle Door - thats what the clone tool is for! Its also private land so you can't sell any shots without consent from the Lulworth Estate apparently.

Ah, I'll bear that in mind. And brush up on my cloning skills.

It is? Do they really pursue that then, surely of the many people visiting it a fair number must be photographers without much local knowledge who go on to sell some prints? Perhaps not... should I be careful then, either way?

should always do your research and be aware when your on private property. same goes for photographing privately owned wildlife (captive animals etc) as you may be liable for a lawsuit or fine. Its a mine field.

Yeah, I can imagine it could get pretty sticky. For some reason I tend to just sort of assume that certain places are OK, but going by what you've said I should probably have another check. Thanks for the heads-up, it's a good point I would haven't thought about otherwise. I suppose the more you get out, the more you encounter these kind of things.

Well of course, although I don't know how well I'd sleep with a basically a large slope down to the cliffs on one side! :D
